DSA Advanced Hitter's Camp (Age 13+)
Do you dominate other aspects of the game but have never felt comfortable in the box?
Do you find yourself going up with the same swing and the same mindset every single at bat?
Do your stats look like a rollercoaster throughout the course of a season, and you would like to be more consistent?
Do you love baseball and love hitting every single day of your life and need some direction to make sure what you are doing is an efficient way to spend your time?
Want to clean up your swing mechanics?
Looking for a batting coach but don't like the idea of having to see somebody every week in order to get better?
In need of reps?
Wherever you are at in your career, there is always room to make improvement. Whatever training system you are following right now, there is always room to make improvement. This camp will get you better simply based on the amount of reps you will get. But the GOATs always take away more than just the physical work.
The goal of this camp is for hitters to take away
knowledge
that will help them train better and/or a
feel
that will help them hit better.
Monday July 10th - Friday July 14th
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
$275
Ages 13+
Topics we will cover include:
Body of a Hitter
Mind of a Hitter
Hitting Mechanics
Hitting Drills
Hitting Routines and Progressions
Med Ball Drills and Bedroom Drills
This camp is more about teaching and feeling. It is for the hitters who are interested in perfecting their grind and their mind- not analyzing and measuring every single swing.
Other Information:
The camp is two hours long each day. Athletes are encouraged to eat before and bring their own water or hydration fuel. We will have quick drink breaks but will not stop for food.
Athletic wear is required however, baseball uniform is not required. NO HEY DUDES OR CROCS WHILE HITTING.
No cleats. Please clean dirt off of bags and shoes before coming into our big league facility.
Parents, you will be asked to stay in the lounge. We separate the athletes from parents so that they can go through some of those scary moments alone and learn to be okay in them. Plus, it is impossible for a young athlete to learn and master a movement with 100 eyes glaring at them. We want them to be relaxed, learn and be excited to show you everything afterwards!
It is mainly an indoor camp but some aspects may be outside.
Coach Lance will be programming the camp and will help run it with a few coaches.
There is no refund for any missed days.
"We believe the swing is a tensegrity system- meaning that you can not focus on a single aspect, without the entire process being affected. This is why having a gameplan or an "approach", as they call it in the hitting world, is so crucial. It organizes the entire system on time with direction. However, it is easy to over-think and slow down the pace of the entire process. This hitter will get passed up by the hitter who is not thinking and is just swinging 500 times a day. But the athlete who free-swings his whole life, may not know how to make mid-at bat, mid-game, or mid-season adjustments, and may get left behind while the intelligent grinder goes all the way to the big leagues. What I try to do, is help hitters build their own database of knowledge and drills so they can build their own processes and take control of what habits they build. Some hitters only dive deep enough to get a drill routine down because they want a pretty swing. And some hitters will go so deep that they build routines and progressions for their mobility, swing mechanics, direction, approach, adjustability, power, hitter journal, etc. At the end of the day, our routines cannot slow us down and we must adapt a little bit everyday mindset, and we must work like it is all we know how to do. And when the pressure is on every single time they step into the box, our hitters will find their peace and calmness to react clearly because they know they are checking every box daily." - Coach Lance
